My Story

I was born and raised in New Hampshire, where I learned to love the great outdoors. Living thirty minutes away from the ocean and just an hour away from Boston, it was such a unique pocket of the world. I was able to look outside each fall at the red and yellowing leaves, and at the same time, still visit the city to experience diverse cultures, food and art.

In my career, I focused on my love of music for many years. I worked in a number of concert venues, including the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom and the Portsmouth Music Hall. I was a jack of all trades, doing everything from working in the box office to hospitality, then managing a volunteer force of over 400 people who all loved music as much as me.

Throughout my career, I got to meet a number of legendary artists and comedians, see historic acts, and witness innumerable plays and movies. My work inspired me, and I loved it dearly.

At home, I had a deep passion for all things creative. I loved to write and read, and all things comics, sci-fi, and adventure. This led me to take up part-time hours at my local comic book store, where I could be a nerd in my natural element. What I never expected was that I would meet the love of my life across the table at a game of Dungeons & Dragons there, or that a few years later, he would ask me to marry him.

He put a spark in me to do more of what I loved, and though I loved the career I was building in music, I knew I wanted more out of life. So, I quit my stable job and went back to college to study communications, with a focus on environmental communications.

It was my then dream to become the host of a nature and travel show and create documentaries about animals and the fascinating world we live in. My fiance and I decided to take a trip to visit his family in Alaska that summer, with this in mind, so I could get some footage of this beautiful state to use in a few projects.

Needless to say, I fell in love. Alaska is one of the most interesting, horrible, and lovely places I have ever been. It has dark winters with biting cold, more mosquitoes than should ever exist in the world, and driving here feels like playing a game of bumper cars. At the same time, I will never tire of looking up at the night sky and witnessing the beautiful aurora, the summers where it is light long past midnight, camping in the vast wilderness, dipping in hot springs, and hiking through the trees.

While here, his uncle lamented that he needed good help with his business and that he was having trouble finding the right fit. My fiance felt very called by this, and wanted to help his uncle with the new business he was trying to build. To some, it seemed like an act of absolute lunacy, but to us, it made so much sense; over the course of that ten-day trip, we made the life-altering choice to move to Fairbanks.

Less than a year later, in 2024, we got married. Four days after that, we packed up our car and our dog and made the journey into the great unknown.

Since we’ve been here, I have seen and done so many things. I have made a great group of friends, travelled to the mountains and rafted through the rivers. I found a life-changing job working with reindeer, where I get to educate people from all around the world about the animals and their environment.

My story isn’t over yet. There is a huge world out there to explore, and I want to see it all. I’m making this blog so that I can take you with me and teach you all the skills I am learning along the way. Throughout my days, I’ve found myself delving into graphic design, photography, videography, and so much more. I feel like I’m on a path to creating something special. As I learn more and explore, I want to share my experiences with the world, and with you. If you’re ready to see the world with fresh eyes and to live a life worth remembering, I hope you’ll join me!
